Artist's Comments
I saw the reference photo in an old German magazine, I think it was Glamour. The photo was in a fashion repotage, how to get the look of latin girls like Penelope Cruz or something, I don't understand German but her name was there. Anyway, I liked the photo and there is a pirate thing going on here on DA.
The scan doesn't really completely match with the real drawing. Sometimes scanners take away details and colours, but this scanner did the opposite. The scan was actually better looking than my drawing, it made the colours much richer, but the cons was that the colours were a little off. I made the scan lighter and tried to change the colours but when I got the colour of the skin right, the colour of the hat was still diffrent. The hat is blue but it should be a lighter shade of blue. But I will leave it that way now. One thing I wish I could change is the right eye, I think it's too angled.
